Heat Sealer Tape

Heat sealing machines are designed to bond and seal two plastic surfaces together using a combination of heat and pressure. The sealing surface is usually a long metal bar made from mild steel that has a a cartridge or similar heater inserted to it. This heats the contact surface.
The contact surface of the sealer when left unprotected, will cause any plastic that comes in to contact with it to stick and melt. The use of Tefsil heat sealer tape as a non stick barrier ensures that any plastics being bonded or welded coming in to contact with the welding head will allow heat to transfer through to the plastic and not stick.
Types of products that are made using heat sealing machines are plastic bags, carrier bags, bubble wrap pouches and low shrink polyolefin films. Polyolefin films tend to be used extensivley on heat sealer machines such as an L sealer which once sealed around a product are then transfered either automatically or manually in to a shrink wrap tunnel.
Machines such as flow wrappers, which also use heat sealer tape, tend to seal thicker materials such as PVC for more heavy duty packaging. Packs of water bottles and even radiators are sealed with these type of machines and all require a Tefsil heat seal tape to act as a heat resistant, non-stick barrier.
